BATH RESTAURANTS

Bath has an extensive selection of Restaurants all of which are within walking distance of the Windsor. We are fully aware that many of you will have not visited the city before and are happy to try and provide some information about Bath restaurants and their cuisine.
The British are not noted for their culinary skills and, as a result, have embraced the best cuisine from all over the world. Visitors to many cities in the UK, have a remarkable choice from a rich variety of tastes and, happily, this is especially so in Bath where the food quality can be compared with the best anywhere. Dining has dramatically improved in recent years with a wide range of styles and prices to choose from and there are establishments to suit every taste and pocket but be warned - good food comes at a price.
If you are looking for something more informal, Britain, probably more than any other country, is famed for its pubs and Bath has many to choose from, where you can sample a pint of local beer, enjoy good-value bar meals and savour the friendly atmosphere
Many is the time while travelling to a new location, visitors have the choice of a huge variety of tourist publications on offer as well as access to the internet and sites promoting restaurant locations. This often results in the sinking feeling that somehow they do not always access to the same information that the local populace is privy to. So....
While researching for this particular page of our web site I was particularly surprised how difficult it was to find the web sites of many of the local Bath Restaurants detailing their menues, many of the restaurants to which we have sent our guests or indeed have dined ourselves. Without the information and knowledge of the local market many of these restaurants, other than appearing in several different directories as an address and telephone number would have remained blind to the internet surfer. When it comes to choosing a restaurant, you can cetainly go by word of mouth, and perhaps also reveiw the restaurants web site? Hopefully we will be able to help you make your selections.
For those of you planning to visit Bath or who are already here we have attempted to provide a guide to restaurants through a number of links, reviews and general information about a number of locations together with a selection of interesting restaurants that actually don't have their own web site. As there are a number of old web sites relating to restaurants that have closed or the ownership has changed we regularly review these listings but, of course, do bear in mind that these are only our opinions and are therefore subjective. As a guide we have listed a number of these restaurants by their type of cuisine as well as a number of our own recommendations.
As a word of warning, it may be difficult to obtain a reservation at a reasonable time on a Friday and a Saturday and we strongly recommend that you book prior to your arrival alternatively, we would be happy to make a booking on your behalf at the time of your reservation.
If you wish to add comments on any restaurant listed here which you have visited, please email us.
