Crescent
is the original "withdrawing room" of the Regency period and much of it
remains today as it was over two hundred years ago.
The original frames of the "wedding doors" stand at the entrance, the high
ceiling retains a gorgeous plasterwork rose and, to the left, two built-in
arches still remain. With a view to the rear of the house you can gaze across
to the Recreation Ground, the home of Bath Rugby Club, one of the foremost
and most successful in the land. The furnishings are coordinated around
an elegant coronet bed featuring specially designed fabrics of blue and
yellow. To retain as many of the original features as possible a pod bathroom
was tastefully built into the corner of the room.
